Recipe: Mushroom Pie

Base:
150 g butter
3 dl spelt flour
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp water
Filling:
1 liter Cantarell, Oyster or any other mushroom
1 onion
3 eggs
2 dl milk
1 dl single cream
3 dl grated cheese
1 tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
Mix the Flour into the butter, using your fingers, and add the Water and Salt. Leave to cool in fridge for about an hour.
Take out of fridge and roll out the dough to fit your pie form (this recipe is best suited for a 9 inch (24 cm) pie dish. Fit the dough into the pie dish and cook for 10 mins at 200 degrees.
Fry the onion until golden and add the mushrooms (chopped to your choice). Add the Mushrooms and Onion into the pie shell.
Whip toghether the Eggs, Cream, Milk, Salt and Pepper. Add the Cheese and pour into shell to cover the Mushroom and Onion.
Cook in oven for approx 35 mins at 200 degrees.
Recipe: Mealie Bread (South African)
250 ml Onions, finely chopped
50 g Butter
1 tsp Mixed Herbs, dried
300 g white Flour
10 ml Baking Powder
1 tsp Salt
30 ml Parsley, chopped
500 ml Maize kernels (buy them in tins)
250 ml Carrot, grated
250 ml Cheddar Cheese, grated
3 Eggs
175 ml Yoghurt, plain

Saute the Onion i Butter, add herbs and leave to cool.
1.) Mix the Parsley, Maize Kernels, Carrot, Onion and Cheese.
2.) Sieve Flour, Baking Powder into mixture
3.) Beat the Eggs lightly (with a fork) and add the Yoghurt.
Add the Eggs and Yoghurt into the mixture and mix it well.
(Roll up your shirt sleaves and get stuck i)
Butter a bread-tin, add the dough, and put in the (preheated) oven at 200 degrees (gasmark 6) for 75 minutes. Take out and let settle before you slice the bread…
